Default Postfix server has stopped forwarding messages??

As of yesterday, I am no longer able to send or receive mail via the
postfix server on my Mac. "dig" confirms that my domain (gold-
family.us) is handled by the correct server (smtp.gold-family.us), and
I can telnet into the server and manually create an email, which is
duly received by my mail client. But when email clients send to me,
they don't seem to reach the server at all (while giving no indication
of bounced mail), and I cannot send mail out at all.

What could be going wrong, here?

PING smtp.gold-family.us (71.185.252.4) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from pool-71-185-252-4.phlapa.fios.verizon.net (71.185.252.4):
icmp_seq=1 ttl=55 time=95.7 ms

Verizon probably shut down port 25.
