I have found some good tools packaged up as Eclipse plug-ins which suits
my tastes very nicely.

What I would really like is your view/statement as to what is a
sufficient schema (LDAP or SQL) to support postfix and IMAP while
maintaining a general compatibility with Sasl and PAM for general system
administration.
I have found some structures that look pretty good from other people on
the web and I do not mind sharing whatever I have learned if anyone is
intereted.
..
I know that this is not really in your focus but your opinion on this
would be highly valued. I suspect that you have fixed dozens or perhaps
hundreds of incorrect structures and improperly constructed queries as
they have shown up here.
I have already expressed my misgivings about the LDAP schemas that come
with OpenLDAP.
I can probably glean quite a bit about your opinion about a best
practice from the Postfix documentation and some of the advice given in
this forum.
