While I didn't keep any records, I did note it was considerably
"lighter". It is after all, written in C, not perl. The following
timing is representative.

We've used it for several months with no problem. Since we never see
more thn 10,000 mails per day, it is fast enough to be used here as a
before-queue content filter. It can also be used as an after-queue
content filter or a transparent proxy. The down side is that it only
works with clamav. No other AV or spam filters.
