We have been using Maia on a similar volume server for at least
6 months with no problems at all. It basically consists of
a patched amavis-new to handle mail processing and a php frontend,
mysql backend for admin and users to manage their Spam/Ham/Viruses etc.
It is well worth a look and has a helpful mailling list.
