Apparently man fetchmail was not in the already read category.
You might want to google fetchmail, which will give you not only links
to its official website and docs, but to the fetchmail mail list.

You treated the symptoms, not the cause, by creating a trash heap of
unwanted mail rather than rejecting it. Had you read the contents of
man fetchmail, you would have learned that fetchmail will never bounce
mail when the reject code is 553. If this were the fetchmail list, I
would have suggested posting the content of your fetchmailrc (with
usernames and passwords obfuscated), but I'd guess less than 2% of those
on this list use fetchmail so I won't suggest it here.
