I'm stepping in because I'm witnessing the very same problem for some domains we are hosting. There are some DNS servers that can't resolve these and I don't know why. For example inet6.fr (my employer's domain) should be easily resolvable (for ref, DNS are 62.210.153.201 and 62.210.153.202) but out of the 3 mail servers listed at http://vger.kernel.org/mxverify.html only the last can get a response for the MX servers. We have access to our ISP DNS server that can't answer a simple "host -t soa inet6.fr <server>" command but can "host -t soa ibm.com <server>" and whatever else I can think of. I had at least one other DNS admin reporting a problem accessing whole DNS zones hosted in France (like ours). Anyone else having messages in the mail queue with dest MX answering with "non resolvable domain" ? BTW how do you configure postfix to send a (configurable ?) warning message to senders when the destination is temporarily refusing the message ? Some people are annoyed when they only get the "message refused" 5 days later... Best regards, Lionel. |
