I switched early this year from SuSE to Gentoo...
It's great!
Also I'm running postfix on my Gentoo server, the packages (as you can
speak of packages on Gentoo) are more frequently updated. And there are
no new releases 6 times a year for the complete distribution. So there is
no need to update completely so frequently.

To install Gentoo it takes a bit longer because there is a lot of manual
work to do and to compile some base packages (good time to sleep ;-) )
