OK, I've removed everything mail-wise from the system (FreeBSD =
4.8-RELEASE on i386).

Starting from scratch, I've installed Postfix 2.0.16 from the ports tree =
(/usr/ports/mail/postfix) and configured postfix to start with the =
system (/usr/local/etc/rc.d/postfix.sh)

After starting postfix with zero configuration, there's nothing screwy =
in the logs, and no maillog (yet.)

My question, relating to aliases and lookup tables, is this: Do I need =
both, or just one (or the other)?

(Weird. I just started postfix with zero configuration, and just =
received 2 test messages I tried sending last night. Wow!)
