Weird Issue with an https based URL

iWhern I do a web browse on one of may https based virtual hosts,

Firefox is giving me

incorrect or unexpexted message: -12263

And the logs for that site indicate

webtrends.nl2k.ab.ca - - [11/Jul/2007:07:54:25 -0600] "\x16\x03\x01" 501 1107 "-" "-"

on the access_log

and

[Wed Jul 11 07:54:25 2007] [error] [client 204.209.81.9] Invalid method in request \x16\x03\x01

on the error log.

How does one fix this?
