Default jsp vrs servlet sticky session Apache2, Tomcat5.5

Help, sticky session works for jsp, with mod_jk or mod_jk2 but does not
work
for servlets with either mod_jk or mod_jk2. Why would load balancing with
sticky sessions work for jsp's but not work for servlets?

thanks in advance
