FTP, show host path? Quota?

I've created an .htaccess file for password protection of a directory.
But I have no idea what the path supposedly is, I need to know the path
when addressing the password file. Any way to see this using FTP?

I've been using Cute FTP and Windows ftp, Cute only shows the www path
and onwards, not the complete path.

Also interested in knowing the disk space available, any way to see
this? I don't have SSH/Telnet access.
