Default Apache with mode-ssl and expired CRL

Hi,
We've got the following problem.
We are accepting client certificates. We are using mod-ssl.
The problem is that when the CRL file "expire" Apache stops accepting
certificates for this CA. We are looking for configuration where the
CRL list still will be used (thought is old) till it's updated.
Thanks
