Hello Group,
Talks with my dedicated server hosting company and an hour on Google havefailed to provide a detailed answer, so I turn to you in my hour of frustration.... If I have a blank web page that is 1K in size and it gets 10 million hits a day, how many gigs per month is my hosting company going to bill me? I could answer that question on my own, if you can help me answer this question: Is it true a 1K web page doesn't really weigh 1K when the following HTTP/ TCP overhead is added on: - request tcp packets - incoming headers, maybe url params, maybe cookies - response tcp packets - response body (1K blank, no images), headers, url params, cookies.... - any additional networking traffic going on for a single request? How much do the factors above add to the weight of a 1K page? Then is safe to assume I can take that final weight and do the math to get a monthly cost? Thank you in advance for your consideration.
