Default Apache 2 FTP Reverse Proxy

Reading through a number of posts, it is possible to believe that
Apache 2 with mod_proxy and mod_proxy_ftp can be used to set up a
reverse proxy server that will handle ftp requests.

I cannot find where anyone has done this or has described how to do it
although there is plenty of info on setting up a reverse http proxy.
Can this really be done and how do I configure Apache 2 to do so?
Also, how do I enter the query in the browser? I have Apache 2.0.47
running on FreeBSD-4.7-STABLE.

Thanks
