What does /usr , /home and /public_html mean?

Default What does /usr , /home and /public_html mean?

/public_html
/home
/usr
/home/username/public_html/

In downloaded PHP scripts and the Apache help files, there are
mentioned. What do they mean? They all come of with my 404 error

Linux system folders. If you don't run linux, you better alter all
references to those folder to your corresponding folders.
If you run linux, you should know those folders. Some may be changed by your
choice, just make sure apache reads the right folders.
