Problems with Apache 2.0.46

Hi all.

I'm having constant problems with Apache 2.0 in multithreaded mode
(MPM=worker). This is Tru64 UNIX 4.0D, it is rather old, I know.

Problems arise when I try to stop Apache. This is from the logs:

The sequence of events is that Apache children hang on for a while (a second
or two), then zombi-fy and then ps clears. While this may seam like a simple
annoyance, it prevents me from doing graceful restarts and it could be
interfering with proper working of some other modules (mod_jk2).
