Job Description:
This individual will be responsible for the layout, visual appearance
and usability of our intranet home page. You need a thorough
understanding, demonstrated success, and experience building user
interface applications with multiple web development tools,
programming languages, operating systems, database, and information
technology platforms.


REQUIREMENTS:

- Liaising closely with customers at the design stage to answer
questions such as: what are the requirements? Why is the site needed?
Who is the target audience?
- Producing a design that will be attractive to the target user, has a
logical navigation system and includes required features
- Create prototype and functional specifications for Internet and web-
based projects that include programming specifications, logic flow
charts, and process diagrams
- Writing web pages in a combination of codes, such as XML, HTML,
Java, JavaScript, ASP (Jscript), ASP (VBScript), ASPX/ASP.NET, Windows
Forms, Photoshop, Cascading style sheets (CSS), or using code-
generating programs, such as Dream weaver or Front Page
- Solid grasp of MOSS 2007 design and implementation
- Demonstrated experience with database-website interactivity
- Knowledge and passion for and understanding of design patterns,
standards and brand guidelines
- Ensuring that material on the web site is accessible to all groups
including those with disabilities
- Testing the site for functionality/ user-friendliness in different
browsers and at different resolutions followed by troubleshooting and
resolving issues
- Reporting progress and status of assigned tasks to project teams
- Set up of web monitoring/ tracking systems
- Developing training documentation
- Performs other duties as assigned by manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 5 years of experience developing software for business
applications
- Bachelors degree or higher with a strong preference towards computer
and base sciences
- Professional experience in website development
- Solid grasp of MOSS 2007 design and implementation
- Passion for and understanding of design patterns, standards and
brand guidelines
- Understanding of the following web development tools, programming
languages, operating systems, and databases:


XML, HTML, Java, JavaScript, ASP (Jscript), ASP (VBScript), ASPX/
ASP.NET, SQL, Cascading style sheets (CSS), Adobe Photoshop, Front
Page or Dream weaver, Microsoft SQL Server 2000 & 2005, Windows 2000 &
2003 Server, Tomcat, Apache Web Server, Microsoft Office Share Point
Services 2003 or 2007 (design and implementation)

Pluses: Oracle 11i E Business Suite, Cold Fusion, Windows Forms,
Flash, AJAX
