I'm thinking...why did someone post a link to a site that is only
links to other sites? Why not just post the target site and save a
domain, webpage, and a few html ancors?

Let's put it this way ... why did someone repost a complete link that
they're complaining about? Does that make them accomplice to the original
infraction, or just a dupe?

Because they're probably being paid for click-throughs.
