Default Upgrading to WPA

I have a WEP wireless network at home with five wirelessly connected
PC's (three laptops running debian-based linux, and two desktops
runing WinXP). It's past time for me to migrate to WPA. Here's the
equipment I currently own:

Adaptec Ultra WAP -- probably need to replace?
Two Netgear MA401 PCMCIA cards
One Prism II-based SMC PCMCIA card
Two Linksys WMP-11 PCI wireless adapters

I found the following link which tells how to update the firmware on
the PCMCIA cards (used on my linux systems).

http://linux.junsun.net/intersil-prism/

I am hopeful that I will be able to upgrade the Linksys PCI cards
(which I use under WinXP) based on

http://www.linksys.com/press/press.asp?prid=123

I'd appreciate some feedback / advice from anyone who has tried this.
Is there a way to upgrade my Adaptec WAP? If not, what would be a good
low-cost replacement that supports basic shared-key WAP?

Thanks!

Maybe I am showing my ignorance, but can you use WPA on 802.11b cards? I was
under impression that you need 802.11g cards for that.

Some venders have made firmware upgrades available which enable WPA on
certain older cards.
