Lets see you are doing an article in which you identify 5 myths, but have no idea what they are? You sound completely incompetent. Please give up reporting for some other profession where you can fit facts into foregone conclusions. |

Personally, I am brand new to linux, but am old-hat to DOSk
Banyan NOS and window$. Linux appears VERY secure to me at first glance. Almost daily, I'm warned from micro$oft of some new leak or hole that has been unplugged for gosh only knows how long. You would have more to write about if you focused your investigation on window$. That's my opinion. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx On Tue, 22 Mar 2005 12:53:10 -0500, "Ross M. That is obvious. I have a bunch of ideas that *I* have to answer. I figured it would be fairer to find out what others are concerned with. That was covered in journalsm 101. Oh! That's right. You'be never taken any courses in joualism. |

You'be never taken any courses in joualism. I havn't taken any courses in journalism but I have taken a moderate number of courses in composition and have published professionally. Nowhere have I ever heard that you come up with your title first and then write the article to match the title. Oh! That's right. The other thing covered is that you find out the facts before you write the article. Especially before you concoct a title like that one. If what you wanted was information you would have asked. Instead you present us with a preconceived title and ask for input. How do you know there are any "myths of linux security". |

That's how he and every other editor I've worked wth for the last 20 years does things. |

Lessee... 1. completely incompetent -- check, 2. come up with catchy title first -- check, 3. fit facts into foregone conclusions -- close: should be s/foregone conclusions/catchy title/ ("conclusions" implies thought processes not in evidence. Among other things). Sounds exactly like journalism to me. Dima -- The speed at which a mistyped command executes is directly proportional to the amount of damage done. -- Joe Zeff |
