xmodmap segfaults after I upgraded Fedora Core 3

I upgraded Fedora Core 3 on two machines.

First machine has a connection to internet so I used up2date.
Everything works as it should.

Other machine has no connection to internet so I burned on CD-RW all
the rpm files that up2date downloaded, copied them on the other
machine and upgraded it with command

rpm -Uvh *.rpm

(First I used rpm -Uvh --test *.rpm and since it did not complain
I deleted the '--test'. :-)

Everything seems to work exepct

xmodmap .Xmodmap

which says

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

xmodmap -e still works.


The list of the rpm's that up2date downloaded are at the end of this
message.
