linux firewall (netfilter and iptable ) can run on ATM card?

Hello.
I have Linux Box with ATM card.
I want to make it linux firewall.

I know, linux firewall works on well on ethernet LAN card.

I'd like to know, linux firewall can run on ATM card without LAN card?

if someone have this experience , or web site for this, Please Tell me.
