snort

Greetings,

I am reading the snort documentation and this program is capable of
connecting to a listening socket and send its data in case of an
intrusion for example :cool :)

Is there some softawre already developped which could listen to the
given socket and flash some popup in case of intrusion or send en email
to root for example ?
