Default Newby question about firewalls

I'm using Firestarter on Fedora. Firestarter shows the sources it has
blocked, but what about sources that haven't been blocked? What other
means are available in Linux for identifying intruders?

Try a search for "snort" or "IDS" at google.com/linux
