Default Networking and gkrellm

Hi All,

I have just put together a new server (Pentium D 930, Asus P5LD2, 1GB
Kingmax DDR2, WD2500KS SATA drive) and installed Fedora 5.

After installing gkrellm (by issuing 'yum install gkrellm')I have noticed
the minute the gkrellm applet opens networking stops. There are no
warnings or errors in the syslog however after a short time I do get nfs
timeouts. The installation does not seem a problem, only if I run it.

I seem to have limited http network access after this however nfs, smb and
nntp transfers are completely halted.

I do not have any firewall software installed at this stage. I have also
tried using the latest fedora 2.6.16-1.2122 kernel and exactly the same.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Default Re: Networking and gkrellm - Sky2 Driver

It appears the problem is related to the Sky2 driver for the Yukon
88E8053. I installed a D-Link GigE card and all works fine (though not as
fast)

Have to wait a while for a more refined driver I guess
