Problems importing INN2 newsgroups

Hi,

I am having problem importing some inn2 newsgroups from one server
(which will be taken down shortly) running woody to another server with
inn2 recently installed on sarge dist. Users cant see the newsgroups I
have copied to the new dirs, and my Thunderbird reports bad article number.

Is there any formal way to do this?
