Default Bandwidh limiting router

Suppose I have a situation where I have a linux box with multiple ethernet
interfaces. In this case 8 of them. Attached to all these cards are
various routable IP addresses. Suppose behind this box on varying types of
machines are boxes that I want to limit the bandwidth to. In a co-lo
situation for instance. I know this is possible with Cisco gear, but I want
to utilize Linux. What is out there to enable me to do such a thing. I can
get more specific should anyone need anything else to point me in the right
direction.

Hello Russel,
For Bandwidth limitation you can try this link
http://sp9wun.republika.pl/linux/sha...bq_en_old.html.

As for routing purpose you can make a linux machine as a router using
"Zebra".
