your linux box does not have smbfs loaded. Run 'modporbe smbfs' to load
smbfs module. If you cann't find the module, then probably your kernel
hasn't been built with smbfs support. In that case, you may have to
compile your kernel again.

If you have compiled samba yourself, then your conf file should be in
/usr/local/samba/lib/smb.conf. you should replace /usr/local with your
prefix (that you might have selected at configuration time).
