I just bought an EPoX 8KDA3+ featuring the nForce3 250gb
chipset. It has an onboard gigabit network controller. Still running the i386 32-bit version of Fedora Core 2, I got most parts of the chipset running. USB an PATA IDE and audio works. nForce SATA IDE doesn't work, but the EPoX motherboard also features a Silicon Image SATA RAID controller which does work. But what worries me is that the main reason for buying this board, the gigabit NIC, doesn't work for me. The open forcedeth driver doesn't recognize the NIC, even though the driver does seem to support an nVidia gigabit NIC. I wonder which other there are. nVidia's half-open nvnet driver doesn't seem to compile at all for 2.6 kernels. I'm not so much interested in the builtin firewall, but by the fact this NIC bypassess the PCI bus. Please nVidia, provide a driver, or even better, release the specs to the open source community.
