Hi:
We are trying to serve Ghost (7.5 - corp edition) images from a Samba (2.2.8) server in our lab. Things are not going well. Samba appears to not want to allow more than one computer access to a file at a time. In fact, Ghost complains about the file being corrupt even though an MD5SUM of the file shows it hasn't changed. Indeed, the permissions on the file are 555 so it shouldn't be writable in the first place. None the less, this is quite different than "normal" windows behavior - multiple ghost clients can access the same image at the same time without apparent issue. Under Samba, this isn't working. Anyone have any ideas on what to try? FWIW: I have already messed with share modes (turning off - no difference) and with oplocks (including level 2 locks - turning off made no difference).
