Hi all.
I am in the process of setting up an IMAP server, but have some questions before I get things finalized. (pardon any newbie-ish-isms). I have all (well, most, but close enough) this stuff running, I just need some advice on the admin side. SEtup: RH9: fetchmail->procmail->spamassassin->clamAV->courierIMAP. 15 or so users. Question 1: What's the recommended way to setup procmail? /etc/procmail or /home/procmailrc? I would think /etc/procmail, but what if certain users need filtering that others don't? I'd hate to have to update all the individual procmailrc's. Is the best way to setup a recipie based on sender and recipient? (Note: obviously new to procmail.) Question 2: Kinda related to 1: Is there a way to let users setup mail filters? (Assume all the users are idiots who are not given login access to the mail server.) Or do I, as admin, need to have each one request a new mail filter for their account (based on sender, subject, etc) as they need them? Question 3: Is there a way to prevent the users from deleting certain folders on the server? ie: I want to make sure mail from the boss always ends up in the "FromTheBoss" folder. Mail client filters don't work since it never actually retrieves the mail. Question 4: Any heads-up type of things I should know about or be prepared for? Thanks, john -- Really, I'm not out to destroy Microsoft. That will just be a completely unintentional side effect. --Linus Torvalds |
