Anyone know what I could do to increase the "response rate" of VNC?
I use VNC to connect to my windoze box at work (I run Mandrake 9.1 at home). It is pretty slow. Man pages dont say what the default value is for -compresslevel but I was thinking of trying to fool around with that value. Are there any other options? Thanks Matt |

Get your hands on "Tight VNC" this is magnitudes faster then plain VNC. -- Michael Heiming Remove +SIGNS and www. if you expect an answer, sorry for inconvenience, but I get tons of SPAM |

It's nice and tight See my other post, there are switches to use for top bandwidth efficiency -- Jem Berkes http://www.sysdesign.ca/ |

I've found that rdesktop is still faster than tightvnc however. Matt |
