Default Wireless portable won't see desktop on the network

Hi,

I'm using a Toshiba laptop with a wireless router from Linksys. I've got
a desktop and a laptop on my 192.168 network. Both can see the Internet
correctly. However, I can see the laptop from the desktop but I can't see
the desktop from the laptop. Does anyone what can cause this? I'm leaning
towards a router setup problem, so I sent an email to linksys about this
but I haven't heard from them yet.

I'm running Gentoo. The problem manifests itself on Windows also so I'm
pretty sure it isn't Linux specific. Hence the reason I think it's a
router setup problem.

I was running a firewall on the desktop but I stopped it to see if that
was it, but it isn't.

Thanks for any help,

L
