Default SuSE 9: Network not working on boot.

I recently installed SuSE 9 and I can't get my network card working when
booting.
I am using a Realtek 8139 (Zonet ZEN1200) PCMCIA card.
It is setup in YaST as "eth-pcmcia" and it seems ok (to me) in the log on
startup. But the network is not working and it is not listed in ifconfig.

I can get it working by manually giving the command:

ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.5

but only until I boot again.

If I add "alias eth0 192.168.0.5" to module.conf it fails when booting.

I am quite new in the Linux world so any ideas are very appreciated.

/Stefan
