Since RH9 comes with 2.2.8 version of Samba, uninstall that and download
the samba 3.0pre3 release from samba.org. The documentation is called
the Samba howto also available from samba.org. Chapter 19 explains cups.
Some people use swat to write their first-time smb.conf file. The swat file
itself is not correct for RH9. Change disable = yes to disable = no
and only_from = localhost to only_from = 127.0.0.1 even though they
are supposed to be _equivalent_. There is also a cups forum at
news.gmane.org called gmane.comp.printing.cups.general

Regards,
Stephen
