Default Trouble with dual pcmcia ethernet cards

I've got a Toshiba Tecra 8000 with Red Had Linux 9 as the OS. I'm trying to
use two pcmcia ethernet cards, one a Linksys EC2T and a 3Com 3C574. If I use
them individually, they work. Doesn't matter which card or which slot. But if
I try to use them both, one will not work. I get a message that one of the
cards does not seem to be present.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
