Default sis900 error

Hello,
I have changed my board, and the new one includes a SiS900 integraded PCI
10/100 Ethernet network card. I'm using Mandrake 9.1
I am unable to get it up.
ifconfig lists only lo interface
cat /proc/ioports shows sis900 on 0x8800
cat /proc/interrupts does not list any interrupt associated to sis900
cat /proc/net/dev lists both lo and eth0 but eth0 has all values to 0 (zero)
ifconfig eth0 up gives this error:
SIOCSIFFLAGS - Device or resource busy

Any advice to get my eth0 working? Thanks

Juan

I had a similar experience, with the same error message, after swapping
ethernet cards (PCMCIA/Cardbus in my case, on Mandrake 9.2). Took a lot
of searching around in various quite incomprehensible (for quite a
non-guru, that is) configuration files, but I got it at last. Perhaps it
might help in your case, too:
Have a look in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts and look in the file
ifcfg-eth0. Please verify that the MAC-address is valid for your
_current_ NIC. Probably the MC address there is the one from your old NIC.
