Dunno about "standard CD-version" (whatever it means), but most PCI cards
refuse to work alltogether. One that I have found to work is 3CRDW696
(manufactured by 3Com). Some other cards have been reported to work, all of
them either Prism2 (PCI-PCMCIA bridge) or Prism2.5 (native PCI).
