Hi,
I have a problem with IPCop with delivery of a fixed addresses via dhcpd. One is for a windows machine (Win/98) and one for a Mac. The Mac is working and the Win box not. The messages I get in /var/log/messages on boot of the Win box are: Jul 15 21:11:18 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 Jul 15 21:11:18 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.100.72 to 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 Jul 15 21:11:18 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 Jul 15 21:11:19 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.100.17 to 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 Jul 15 21:11:19 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.100.17 from 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 Jul 15 21:11:19 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPNAK on 192.168.100.17 to 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 Jul 15 21:11:19 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.100.17 from 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 Jul 15 21:11:19 ipcop dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.100.17 to 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3 via eth0 After this the Win box has no address and won't (naturally enough) connect. This is the relevant part of dhcpd.conf: host fix2 { hardware ethernet 00:a0:cc:5b:35:e3; fixed-address 192.168.100.72; } Can anyone tell me what's going wrong, or where to look for more evidence? I don't understand what the problem is, or why dhcpd is offering a different address on the second DHCPOFFER. Thanks in advance for any help ... David ==== D.S.
