I compiled it and it sort of works, but it is very slow. Reception seems to be good as I am very close to wireless router. When I checked /proc/net/wireless, I got Inter-| sta-| Quality | Discarded packets | Missed face | tus | link level noise | nwid crypt frag retry misc | beacon eth1: 0000 90 0. 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 I am using a compaq presario 2100 with debian installed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Murat PS. PCMCIA-CS do not like adding pci "07:00.0" in my machine. |

On booting my laptop (2.4.21 kernel) the 3CRWE737a card seems to startup ok, ifconfig/iwconfig looks fine, but it is very slow. I pull out the card, put it back in, and speed is fine. It puzzles me. -job |

Mine is an old 3COM, but hardware and firmware come from other vendors, perhaps they are the same inside. > Many times, I have put in the card > twice, as the first time pcmcia will not recognize. On booting i first pull out the card, until all pcmcia stuff has come up, then i push the card in. Pushed in too soon: slow; pushed in too late: no network. > Strangely enough, I could not get it to work in windows either. I had it working in win2000, but after upgrading the driver it stopped working, and deleting/reinstalling did not help. It works fine in Win ME though. > I thought, > I knew little bit about networking about apparently I didn't. Well, i feel the same way; this is not so much logic and science as magic, so I will start reading the new Harry Potter first. > Murat -job |
