Has anybody here used Google-Earth under linux ?
They want you to d/l and install their app. Is it open-source ? Why can't we just fetch the 'image.file' from their dataBase, by specifying the co-ordinates ..etc., instead of going thru their "hold your hand & manipulate your mind" interface. Like I can fetch: http://64.233.183.104/search?q=%22Go...%22+map+format with eg lynx, to a file, without getting live-cartoons 'in my face'. ==TIA. |

Try it out with Sabayon Linux x86 3.5 Loop r2 LiveDVD It has google earth (as well as a lot of professional games). I had it running in VirtualBox so I didn't have to address the question of whether it was open or not when trying it out. http://www.livecdlist.com http://www.distrowatch.com |

What is "hold your hand and manipulate your mind" about it. You use your mouse to travel over the earth and to zoom in and out. How is that holding your hand? >> >> Like I can fetch: >> http://64.233.183.104/search?q=%22Go...%22+map+format >> with eg lynx, to a file, without getting live-cartoons 'in my face'. >> >> ==TIA. >Try it out with Sabayon Linux x86 3.5 Loop r2 LiveDVD >It has google earth (as well as a lot of professional games). >I had it running in VirtualBox so I didn't have >to address the question of whether it was open or not >when trying it out. >http://www.livecdlist.com >http://www.distrowatch.com |
