Is it possible to deal with a .deb (Debian Package) file under RedHat

There is a tool called alien, see
<http://www.kitenet.net/programs/alien/>.

A .deb package is an ar archive. The payload is
in the file data.tar.gz as a tar/gzip archive.
You can manually disassemble a .deb package, but
it will then be not in your package management.

Yes, you can install dkpg and apt in Redhat, or use alien as someone
says in one post.
