Hello,
I am using gnome 2.4 and the last version of alsa. When i do NOT run esound, i have no sound with gnome but xmms is working fine. When i run esound, gnome sounds are working fine but xmms freeze even with the esound plugin. Does anyone have an idea ? Fred |

Looks like XMMS is still trying to access the sound card directly (and can't because esd is blocking it). Try to launch it from the command line using "esddsp xmms &" Can't explain why the esd plugin doesn't work. I'm using esound 0.2.28 under FluxBox and it works fine. Did you restart XMMS after changing the output plugin?
