Xfree keyboard

is there anyway to get the xfree keyboard driver to act exactly as the
standard console?

In fact I have a barcode reader between keyboard and ps/2 connector from
mainboard. The barcode reader works well under linux console but under X, I
receive strange chars.

:'(

please help
