Is there a canonical place to find the status of bugs in the
2.6 kernel series? There are a couple of broken pieces in 2.6.0-test2 that are keeping me from using it much (BlueZ and ide_cs). I know, for example, that the problem with ide_cs has been known for a long time, http://lists.insecure.org/lists/linu.../Jun/5684.html but it appears that no one is working on it. Going to the Kernel Bug Tracker and searching for ide_cs yields an incredibly helpful "Zarro Boogs found." I get the feeling that system isn't quite in use yet. So...where do I find what plans (if any) exist for fixing basic kernel bugs like these? Thank you. --kyler |

As I understand it, bluez in 2.6.0-test1/2 _is_ working, but the userspace programs have to be updated to work with the modules. It's my impression that this will be implemented fairly soon. (This has been discussed on the bluez mailing list, <https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bluez-users>.) -- Timothy Murphy e-mail: tim@birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-233 6090 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland |

I still want to learn how to readily find such information on my own (preferably at a central location), but I do appreciate this pointer. I see that it's not just the BSCP driver (which I am using and was using for ealier searches). http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/m...msg_id=5571940 >It's my impression that this will be implemented fairly soon. I sure wish someone would say that in a BlueZ status/FAQ/kernel documentation file. I'm looking forward to it. Thank you. --kyler |

To be more precise, Marcel Holtmann (who is responsible for the bluez modules in the kernel) said in response to a query (from me) about bluez in 2.6.0-test1: ================================================== ==== > I notice bluez does not run under this kernel. > Are there any patches one can apply? the Bluetooth subsystem in linux-2.6.0-test1 works fine, but there are some outstanding patches to bring it in sync with 2.4. ================================================== ==== bluez documentation is not its strong point ... But Marcel answers a huge number of queries on the bluez mailing list <https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bluez-users> usually within a day or so. -- Timothy Murphy e-mail: tim@birdsnest.maths.tcd.ie tel: +353-86-233 6090 s-mail: School of Mathematics, Trinity College, Dublin 2, Ireland |
