Hi All,
I would like to use a linux installation DVD-ROM (Fedora 5) to boot my machine and mount the NTFS on my harddisk. I tried to boot it in "linux rescue" mode and access to the command line. but I am not able to mount the NTFS. It seems like the ntfs modules is not loaded to kernel yet. Then, I downloaded ntfs-kernel- modules.rpm file and save it in a usb drive. I tried to install it after boot in rescue mode but I got /lib/modules is a read-only file system. Any hints? |

The Fedora 5 CD-R is mostly intended to install Fedora 5 (which is 4 revisions behind the times now). Using it for any other purpose is a bad idea. If you want a much better generic rescue system/LiveCD, take a look at http://www.sysresccd.org/ . Recent versions of this distro have ntfs-3g, which is fairly nice. > I tried to boot it in "linux rescue" mode and access to the command > line. but I am not able to mount the NTFS [partitions].
