I have a bunch of different computers all with different OSes, some
dual-booting. I love the idea of SystemRescueCD, just boot up, image (partimage), then your done, or boot up, restore, and done. I noticed that partimage wants you to backup each and every partition. dd would copy the entire hard drive plus free space, making it fairly slow and be much more demanding on space on an "image server"/file server. Is there a way to backup the MBR, Partition Table, and all partitions, then just restore them all together, but still only need a LiveCD and not have to install anything on the systems themselves? |
