http://www.canada.com/technology/sto...www.yahoo.com/ Linux talent scarce as penguins' teeth Liquid Computing waddles out symbol to scare up software developers Liquid Computing software architect Ron Van Holst, left, software designer Sean Liu, and team leader Brent Webster waddle out a flock of 40 plastic penguins to draw attention to the company's drive to find new Linux software developers. The company has doubled its workforce to 60 since raising $14 million in new capital in May. It's seeking 20 more employees. The penguins were on the streets of Kanata yesterday, searching for scarce Linux software developers. In a sign of the recovering technology industry, recruiters from Liquid Computing dressed up as penguins -- the symbol of the popular open-source technology -- in a bid to find 20 more staff. Since raising $14 million U.S. in new capital in May, Liquid has doubled the workforce to 60 full-time and contract employees. -- The Texeme Construct, http://www.texeme.com 360, http://360.yahoo.com/manfrommars_43 |
