what the fsck is a 64 bit zip archive? I've never heard of such a thing. the
zip format should be platform neutral...whether or not its contents run on a
particular platform is a different matter, right?

Apparently PK Ware has extended their program with a new 64 bit format for
large archives.

I believe it's still mostly platform neutral, but if you create a huge
archive, it appears it will come up in a -different- platform neutral
format.

"I see" said the blind man to the deaf mute, as he picked up his hammer, and
saw.
