Was I suppose to know that resizing the WinXP partition would destroy the
OS?

Don't know why you are asking here, but someone on comp.cad.solidworks had
the same problem recently. It had to do with entries in the boot.ini file
not pointing to the right partitions anymore.

I am dual-booting win2k and mandrake-10 on my dell inspiron 4000.
Whenever I update lilo in the linux partition, I can no longer boot into
linux using the win2k bootloader. I have tried creating a new
bootsect.lnx, but it doesn't seem to matter. Nor does writing a new
boot.ini.

I have heard that win2k is married to it's disk, but I don't know about
XP. The partitions themselves have not changed.

Perhaps XP notices *any* change to the drive, and being suspicious,
worms things up.
